Count Me In

The single most helpful thing you can do right now: let us know you're interested and how to reach you. It helps us plan food, space, and lodging, and it's how you'll get the dates first.

The sign-up form is almost ready. Check back soon, or ask a family organizer to add you to the list.

Spread the Word

Every cousin, aunt, uncle, and grandkid should hear about this. Send this page to the Praters in your phone.

Our Story

Our Prater heritage begins in Bunkie, Louisiana, where Kitty (Katie) Hughes, the daughter of Mary Chaney, married Joseph Prater. Together they had five children: William Davis, Charles, Steve, Warren and Mary. All five were born in Bunkie.

The family later moved to Marksville. William Davis and Mary settled in Alexandria, while Charles, Steve and Warren stayed in Marksville. Warren's children, Kitty and Joseph's grandchildren, carried the family on from there.

We are their children's children, and together with the descendants of Warren's brothers and sister, we are working to uphold the Prater name.

Today our family works in the professions, government, the trades, construction and farming, and we are still striving to do our best.
